Since June 2006 I have been teaching
beginning bead making courses, first at Exemplar Glass, in Leominster,
Herefordshire and now in my own studio in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
Learn what you need to know to confidently turn on an oxygen-propane
torch and melt soda glass to create beautiful beads. All materials
will be supplied, along with a delicious two course lunch and
tea breaks. There are lots of beads to see and an archive of
books to browse.
People come from all over the country
to my classes and I can recommend a very nice private B&B
within walking distance to the studio. There are also a number
of hotels and B&Bs in Leamington and Warwick. Non-lampworking
partners can amuse themselves at Warwick Castle (2 mi.) and Stratford-upon-Avon
(10 mi.). Leamington has lots of good restaurants and is becoming
quite known as a great place to shop for fashion, with many on-off
boutiques.
I make sure that you understand
the basics of glass beadmaking as well as health and safety aspects
of lampworking. You go home with a set of notes and a list of
all the equipment you would need to set up your own studio. Contact
me at dianaglass at btinternet.com for more information and to
register.
